We specialize in crave worthy and healthy International and American recipes, using real food. And the inspiration for The Delicious Crescent recipes comes from a multicultural experience and heritage. The greatest inspirations and teachers in the kitchen have been my parents and parents-in-law.
My Indian roots laid a solid foundation for my diverse cooking experiences at a very early age. Then my marriage into a family of German and Persian heritage, ensured that culinary adventures would remain a lifelong obsession. My decades long exposure to a rainbow of cultures in the US further helped me increase my repertoire of recipes.
While working in the healthcare industry, I came across a plethora of misinformation about nutrition, self appointed experts, countless number of people struggling with eating nutritious food and staying healthy. People are succumbing to conditions that can be managed or prevented with lifestyle changes. Too many people are out there to take a business advantage of the situation without having enough scientific knowledge.
So I decided to utilize my training, education, interests and experiences to make a positive contribution through this site - The Delicious Crescent. I am so delighted to be able to share my love for good food and mindful nutrition with thousands of visitors each month. Also, I am happy to share that The Delicious Crescent recipes and I have been featured on several premier magazines and sites.
I firmly believe in moderation while eating and in an active lifestyle. And I do have a sweet tooth and thoroughly relish baking. Food is one of the great pleasures of life. So indulging once in a while is perfectly okay. More about my food philosophy here.
